    Today’s catch-up across your chats, in the app, from Siri or in the car. Where your phone has a model of its own, it writes the answer and nothing leaves it.

Turn it off, or choose its voice

When your phone can’t answer by itself, or you chose OpenAI’s voice or a summary language, the messages involved go to OpenAI to produce the answer, and the answer says so. Kristik keeps no copy and asks OpenAI not to store them; OpenAI may still keep requests for up to 30 days to monitor abuse.

    A personal and a work number, side by side: up to three on WhatsApp and on Signal, and more than one on the others. Name and colour each; every chat says which account it’s on, and replies go out from that one.

    Find someone by their Kristik username to write, send a GIF, start a group or call them. Nothing is bridged, so only your phones can read it. They see when you’re online, unless you hide it.

Exactly who can read your messages.

Telegram, Messenger and Instagram go through a bridge on Kristik’s servers that reads each message it passes on and holds your sign-in. WhatsApp and Signal reach Kristik still locked (end-to-end encrypted), and your phone opens them. Everything is then stored locked on a server that can’t open it. Pick where a message comes from to follow it.

What this doesn’t cover yet. A first message to someone you have never written to is not yet protected from Kristik’s servers. Nothing yet checks the keys the relay hands your phone, so someone who took over the relay could try to read what you send or pose as a contact; your phone warns you when a contact’s security code changes, and their messages wait until you trust it. Signal doesn’t carry files, edits or deletions yet, or write to groups. And it isn’t yet proven: Kristik’s servers don’t read these messages, and Kristik doesn’t claim they couldn’t.

Calls work the same way. Sound and video are locked between the two phones, and when they can’t reach each other directly, Kristik’s call relay forwards packets it cannot open. The way to that call relay is not encrypted yet, so someone watching your network can tell a call is going through it.

Kristik connects to your accounts the way a desktop app does, so your phone’s own messaging apps keep working as before.

    Accept your invitation

    Leave your email below. When there’s a place, the link Kristik sends lets you choose a username and password. Kristik comes from TestFlight on iPhone and iPad, and from kristik.online/download on Android.

    The app makes it before anything else. Keep it somewhere safe: it’s how a new phone reads your history if this one is lost.

Questions about Kristik.

Which apps does Kristik work with?

WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Messenger and Instagram, on iPhone, iPad and Android. Kristik users can also write to and call each other in Kristik itself.

Do my contacts need Kristik too?

No. Your messages still travel on WhatsApp, Telegram or wherever they came from, to and from the same people. They won’t notice anything has changed.

Is it end-to-end encrypted?

Between two Kristik users, yes: messages and calls can be read only on their phones. With WhatsApp and Signal, a message reaches Kristik’s relay still locked and only your phone opens it. Kristik still sees who talks to whom, and when, and the first message you send to someone new is not yet protected from Kristik. With Telegram, Messenger and Instagram, not all the way: Kristik’s bridge has to read every message to pass it across, and from the bridge to your phone it is encrypted again. On Telegram and Instagram, and in a Messenger chat Messenger doesn’t encrypt, the network can read it too. The privacy section shows exactly where.

Can I use two WhatsApp numbers?

Yes. Connect up to three accounts on WhatsApp and on Signal, and more than one on the others. Every chat says which account it’s on, and replies go out from that one.

Will I get my old messages?

Some of them. When you connect an account the network sends recent history once, and Kristik takes up to 1000 messages in each chat: from your 1000 most recent chats on WhatsApp; from 1000 chats on Telegram, one-to-one chats first; from your most recent chats on Messenger and Instagram; and from every chat on Signal, if you accept the transfer when you connect. Messenger’s end-to-end encrypted chats bring no history. WhatsApp’s history brings photos and files at most two weeks old and 5 MB; Signal’s brings none. Older photos may be missing where the network has already deleted them from its own servers.

Can I still use WhatsApp and the other apps?

Yes. Kristik is a linked device, like a desktop app, so everything keeps working on your phone as before. Messages you send from either place show up in both.

What if I lose my phone?

Sign in on the new one and approve it from another phone you use, or enter your recovery key, or import a key file you exported. Kristik never holds the key, so without one of these your earlier messages can’t be read. Forgotten your password as well? Reset it in the app with a code sent to your email.

Can I place calls from Kristik?

To other Kristik users, yes: voice and video, encrypted between the two phones, and a locked phone rings too. Calls on the other networks appear in the conversation, except on WhatsApp for now, and Kristik hands you over to that network’s own app to take or return them.

Does Kristik work on iPad, or in the car?

Both. On iPad it runs full screen, with the iPhone’s layout for now. On an iPhone, CarPlay lists your chats by name and never shows what they say: Siri reads what’s new and takes your reply, or reads you today’s catch-up. With the app lock on, the car lists nothing.

What happens when I delete my account?

It happens immediately and can’t be undone. Kristik signs out every account it connected, deletes its account records about you, and erases what’s on your phone. A couple of minutes later the message server deletes every conversation no other Kristik user is in. Some things remain: a conversation you shared with another Kristik user stays for them, locked; your username stays taken; and nightly backups keep a copy for up to 30 days. Nothing on WhatsApp or the other networks is deleted.
